Our Orthopedic Experience & Joint Replacement Expertise

Nurse helping an older woman

With nearly 50 years of combined surgical experience between our surgeons (and 60 years between our three board-certified physician assistants), the Whole Health Joint Replacement Institute knows what it takes to set our patients up for success. We assess the entirety of our patients’ health, paying attention not only to their physical wellbeing but to their mental and emotional wellbeing as well. As one of the country’s leading experts in joint replacement surgeries, we believe in the importance of sharing knowledge peer to peer in order to improve the lives of patients globally.

Whole Health’s dedication to unmatched orthopedic care goes far beyond performing joint replacements; our own Dr. Molli was actually one of the four creators/design surgeons of the Medacta MOTO Partial Knee System. Used for partial knee replacements (a procedure we specialize in), this system is a custom surgical technique and implant designed to balance the ligaments of each particular patient’s knee. The system uses a specially designed piece that is capable of fitting 10 different femur sizes and 8 different tibia sizes, with plastic thickness options designed to match the needs of our patients. To date, Dr. Molli has performed over 2,000 partial knee replacements, and nearly half of them have utilized the Medacta MOTO system.

Our Relationship with Medacta, An Educational Orthopedics Company

At Whole Health, we like to say that we operate as an educational company that happens to perform high-quality hip and knee replacements.  We work closely with Medacta to provide specialized training to doctors and students globally. Medacta is an educational orthopedics company that also manufactures innovative medical devices. When observing the philosophies of both companies, it’s easy to see why we work so well together. Medacta operates with three focuses in mind: patient wellbeing, medical education, and healthcare system sustainability. This is largely intertwined with the company’s history and the fact that it is the only medical device company founded by a patient.

Medacta and Whole Health share a passion for medical education while employing a “patient first construct,” and because of this, Whole Health is proud to utilize Medacta medical devices for operations such as total hip, total knee, and partial knee arthroplasties. Both companies are dedicated to finding the perfect device and surgical technique for each and every patient, while Whole Health’s procedures are rooted in strong, reasonable, and proven surgical and scientific techniques.

Educational Seminars & Videos for Patients & Professionals

In addition to training over 450 fellow surgeons worldwide in both lecture settings and cadaveric labs, Dr. Molli has performed over 300 educational seminars for patients in the past 10 years. In addition to one-on-one education, these group seminars have been mandatory for every patient of Whole Health prior to every procedure we perform. While these seminars are designed for patient education, healthcare providers are also welcome to attend and learn more about our holistic, patient-centric philosophy.

At your leisure we would like you to take the time to view the educational seminar video by following the link below to help you gain a better insight of the surgical process here at Whole Heath Joint Replacement Institute. Usually we ask our patients to attend one of our monthly educational seminars; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are not permitted to hold these seminars until further notice due to social gathering restrictions, and the health risk it can pose to patients and the community. We will resume these once it is safe to do so.  Also, below you will find the pre-operative videos created by Dr. Molli and Dr. Frndak that each patient is required to view prior to scheduling surgery.

These videos were created to function as an educational opportunity to our patients at Whole Heath Joint Replacement Institute with hip and/or knee arthritis. This is NOT intended to be used as formal medical advice but is purely a free educational opportunity to learn some of the basic concepts behind what arthritis is, how it is treated both conservatively as well as surgically, and what to generally expect after surgery.

Dr. Molli and Dr. Frndak have always been extremely dedicated to education and have found that it makes a huge positive impact on their patients AFTER surgery if they can be properly educated before surgery. This allows them to have a better understanding of realistic expectations after surgery which yields happier and more satisfied patients.

We hope you enjoy this educational opportunity and we are eager to return to more “live” and “in person” educational seminars and opportunities in the near future once it is safe to once again gather in large numbers.

You will be required to enter a password to be able to view the educational seminar video, which can be obtained by calling our office at (814) 333-7109 and requesting directly. Also, if you are having any difficulty with being able to access the videos, please do not hesitate to call the office.

Testimonials

Had hip replacement surgery today… back home and feeling great. Very grateful to have someone of this caliber in Crawford County. From the check in person to Dr. Molli I cannot thank you all enough for your excellent care!

Donald

Dr. Frndak is an amazing surgeon, caring, and devoted to his patients. My first experience with him was in 1994, when, as a new surgeon, he re-replaced my total knee , and most recently, in October of 2019, when he replaced my husband’s hip. I have the utmost faith in him and his skills, and can’t recommend him enough.

Sandy

My father had a wonderful experience with Dr. Molli and staff! He came out of surgery and was very grateful for how well he was cared for and respected as a patient!! Highly recommend this team!! Thank you for all you do for our community!

Ashley

My dad went in December 30 for a total knee replacement. February 14th he turned 85 and is back at full movement and extremely happy with the results. Thank you Dr. Molli and your staff for a job well done and helping to keep our dad active.

Scott

I am so thankful Meadville has such a highly qualified orthopedic surgeon such as Dr. Frndak. I didn’t have to do any searching for a surgeon as he has a great reputation in Meadville and “word of mouth” sometimes says it all! I wouldn’t trust any other to perform my two hip replacements, and in the near future; I will be having both knees replaced. He did a wonderful job with my hip replacements although mine weren’t “typical” hip replacement as I had Congenital Hip Dysplasia with my hip sockets not fully formed. He did a wonderful job in getting the hips in line and where they should be. His medical knowledge and ethics make him an awesome physician. There is no need to go out of town to have any joint replacements.

Patient of Dr. Philip Frndak

I had my partial knee replacement surgery 2/26/20. They give you so much information and you really learn about the procedure before surgery. They provide you with medications that are thorough for every aspect of your healing process. I feel like I was taken care from the beginning (pre-op), surgery and after care. It was an odd time during the quarantine but I knew they were just a phone call away. I cannot say enough about what a positive experience this was. I’m feeling good and looking forward to getting stronger. Such a great feeling of finally being out of constant pain. Thank you Dr. Molli and crew. I’m so happy with you all! I’m getting my life back and it’s a wonderful feeling. Thank you so much.
